In a nation with almost 85% unemployment, creating economic growth is essential to improving the lives of Jamaicans. As a ministry committed to changing lives and transforming communities, providing economic stimulus and job opportunities to St. Mary is a vital part of our commitment to holistic change in the community.

THE GALINA BREEZE HOTEL
At the center of ACE's commitment to the economic development of St. Mary's Parish is the Galina Breeze Hotel - an ACE owned and operated full service hotel and banquet center for the Jamaican people. This small-scale hotel boasts 14 rooms and one villa. All rooms have modern amenities and a view that looks down the entire Northeastern Coast.
In addition to accommodating all mission trip participants and local events, the Galina Breeze provides revenue to support the ministry and offer valuable employment, tourist and economic enterprise opportunities for St. Mary, Jamaica. Many of the micro-businesses that receive ACE enterprise loans have sprung up to serve the hotel in some capacity, providing fresh fruits, vegetables, poultry and seafood. | Learn More

GREEN LIFE FARM
ACE will be leasing farm land that will be provided to nationals for self- sustainable organic farming. We believe by teaching Jamaicans to farm organically, supplying the land, the slow drip irrigation process and the seed, they can then purchase their crop and re-sell it to the hotels and businesses on the island. The farm is Phase One of the project. In Phase Two, the Green Life Farm will grow to include a 50-acre children’s village. Click here for more information. | Learn More

MICRO-BUSINESS LOANS
To stimulate growth ACE provides business training and small, short-term loans for locally owned and operated businesses. The interest gained (5% versus the typical 18%) funds additional business. | Learn More

THRIFT SALES
Mission Trip participants often bring yard sale items and leave behind clothing and linens they used on the trip. Rather than give a "hand out", ACE launders these items and sells them at thrift sales. Revenue from these sales is put back into the schools or elsewhere in the community.

ACE "FOOTBALL" (SOCCER) TEAM
ACE formed the Galina United Men's (GUM) Football team, sponsoring this team of 17 men from the Port Maria area. The coach works with these previously unemployed men, ages 19-28, on team building and discipline.
As they continue to win, develop as a team, and move up in the rankings, there is the potential for them to earn a salary as a team member or be paid as a professional athlete.

Through these efforts, our desire is to make a lasting impression on the economy of St. Mary, Jamaica, raising the standard of living and bringing hope for the community.
