Infirmary/Clinics

In order to bring hope and healing to the people of St. Mary’s parish, ACE is committed to developing the physical, mental and emotional health and well-being of the community.

MEDICAL CLINICS
ACE currently operates 4 year-round clinics staffed by a Jamaican doctor and nurse. At least once per quarter a short-term medical team comes in for intensive care, with the national doctors scheduling patients for these weeks. We also have one of the best-stocked pharmacies in St. Mary’s parish servicing local doctors.

INFIRMARY (aka Poor House or “Nursing Home”)
We call it the "infirmary", but most Americans would call it a "nursing home." The infirmary provides shelter for the poorest of the poor in St. Mary's parish. Many of the residents are elderly and/or handicapped and in desperate need of love and attention.  It's unlike an American nursing home in that residents are free to come and go as they wish.  Most, however, stay until they die as it is a safe haven; a place where they are cared for and loved.

ACE team members and mission trip participants visit the infirmary often, giving respite to the staff, funds, supplies, 3 fresh meals and physical therapy each week.
