So much support from you—our donors, prayer partners, and businesses—has made it possible for us to report that ACE has fully recovered from that “Mean Melissa” storm last October! While we will continue to clean up inner roads, our properties are in good shape compared to farms and hotels on the other side of the island, many of which are still closed.
There are always lessons we can learn from storms like this. And while I generally think of a major corporation offering everything from film, paper, tape, and more when I think of “3M,” this month, I refer to the 3 M’s as Marla’s Minute reporting on the three things we learned from Hurricane Melissa.
- Anything at any time can be taken away in the natural, so don’t get too tied to things that fade away.
- Life is the most precious commodity God has given us. Use that time to positively impact everyone around you. Not with negative “won’t work” attitudes, but with “can do” attitudes. Remember, “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).
- Be joyful, and be a friend of change.
The older I get, the more I pray that God will keep me limber and enjoy the change He brings to Jamaica after storms like Melissa, as well as in all our hearts. Change is good. I pray we can all stay limber spiritually, especially the next time we see a big ball of wind on the weather app heading our way.
God’s got us. We are beyond grateful for the help each of you provided to get us up and running again in full ACE style.
