This summer we hosted two weeks of Vacation Bible School (VBS). Our theme was Be Magnified — helping kids discover the bigness of God in the smallest of things—His love, His faithfulness, and His presence in everyday moments.

Our key verse for the week was Psalm 34:3: “Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt His name together.”

What better way to exalt the name of the Lord than through crafts, worship, laughter, and the pure joy of children lifting their hands in praise?

The first week, we served at least 48 students at Hampstead Primary. Even in the scorching heat, the energy was high, and the kids showed up ready to sing, create, and learn! Week two was at Free Hill, where more than 100 children came with big smiles.

Throughout both weeks, volunteers and local leaders worked side by side to create a welcoming, Gospel-centered environment. Children made crafts that reminded them of God’s greatness. They sang songs that pointed their hearts toward Jesus. And they heard, again and again, that they are deeply loved by the God who made them. Many of these kids often just want to be loved and hear something positive about themselves, and we watched firsthand as their behaviour shifted for the better throughout the week at VBS. Children were eager to hear the words of the Lord!

We’re so grateful for every child, every volunteer, and everyone who helped make these two weeks possible. Seeds were planted. Hearts were pointed toward Jesus. And a whole bunch of kids left knowing they are loved by a very big God.

As we look back on this year’s VBS, our prayer remains the same as our key verse: “Glorify the Lord with me. Let us exalt His name together.”

May the seeds planted this summer continue to grow. And may these children keep singing Hallelujah for years to come.
