Amber, ACE’s Stateside Sponsorship Coordinator, just wrapped up our Annual Book Bag Distribution! This year’s preparation for the event looked a little different than normal. Discover how her new systems surrounding the event brought big blessings to our staff, students, and ministry as a whole.
There is a season for everything under the sun, and sometimes that season brings change. During my 18 years serving with ACE, I have never ceased to be amazed by the Lord’s provision. He always provides. Each August, ACE hosts BBD, our Book Bag Distribution. In past years, we asked short-term mission teams to bring school supplies and book bags, which were packed into suitcases, brought to the office, and stored until distribution. During a busy summer of hosting teams, keeping everything sorted and organized was nearly impossible. This year, we took a different approach. With help from our Stateside staff and the ladies in my Bible study, the school bags were ordered, filled with supplies, labeled, and prayed over within just a few hours. Emily then packed the bags into barrels and shipped them to Jamaica. Our Jamaica staff picked them up from the port and took them directly to the wellness center for storage. The entire process was seamless and clearly showed how the Lord was working out every detail.
A week before BBD, the bags were arranged on tables and labeled with name tags. Our Jamaica staff were grateful to have the bags already sorted, organized, and packed in barrels. Because our Jamaica staff work tirelessly, it was a blessing to support BBD from the States. We distributed 170 school bags filled with supplies. The day went smoothly as parents signed contracts, updated contact information, took student photos, and received the bags. We are so grateful to serve a God who always provides.
